All-You-Can-Eat Buffets in Bangkok Under 500 Baht

An all-you-can-eat buffet in Bangkok is the smart choice if you are looking to stock up on a budget, and with any of the favorite places you can indulge for less than 500 baht – incredibly good value!

It’s true that many five-star hotels have very expensive brunches or dinner that can really burn a hole in your pocket, but with these choice picks you get tasty food at amazing rates. On our list we have wide ranging hotel spreads, sizzling curries and meaty barbecues, so whatever you fancy you should find something suitable. All of these deals are the regular price and are open seven nights a week.

But at the risk of sounding like your mother, take your time and don’t order too much in one go. Anything you don’t eat usually carries a large penalty fine to prevent wastefulness.

Kuroda Japanease Restaurant @ Ekkamai
499+ baht (no time limit)

Fans of Japanese food will love Kuroda, a restaurant with a 22 page menu of classic Japanese dishes, all available in unlimited amounts for the single price of 495 baht. The layout is bland and a little like a canteen, but the service is prompt and the plates of salmon and tuna sashimi just keep on coming. Other highlights include ‘toriyaki’ chicken sticks, grilled beef, ramen noodles, and shrimp tempura. Kuroda has several branches but the one on Ekkamai is the easiest to find. It is 200 metres from the junction with Sukhumvit on the left hand side of the road.

Pla Thong Thai BBQ @ Victory Monument
159+ baht (2 hours’ time limit)

If you haven’t heard of a Thai BBQ before, your life is about to change. It’s an all you can eat meat buffet, where you get to cook your own food! Pla Thong Buffet is a Thai BBQ situated only a block away from the Victory Monument in Central Bangkok. This makes it very accessible, by either the BTS Sky Train, or the local Bus services. This massive open-air Thai BBQ was bustling with what looked could be over 100 tables, each with 4 seats and I’d say about 80% of the restaurant was full! Centered in the back of the huge hall was a mighty meat, noodle, veggie and dessert buffet tables. The smell of the Thai BBQ’s filled the streets even before entering the restaurant.

Open: 05:00 PM - Late Night.
Location: Head towards the Century The Movie Plaza and at its opposite row, look for this shop Eat Am Here Bangkok and then walk ahead as Pla Tong Mookata is on the same row.

Shabushi by Oishi
350+ baht (1.5 hours’ time limit)

This shabu-shabu franchise is a ubiquitous presence in shopping malls across Bangkok, often with lines of people waiting to get inside to feast for 1.5 hours for 350 baht. Each Shabushi branch is designed in the same way, very much like a sushi train restaurant. Stools are lined up along a revolving conveyor belt which delivers the variety of ingredients to your seat, which you then boil in your pot of either spicy tom yum flavour broth or a lighter, salty broth. Ingredients range from fish, clams and shrimp, to beef, chicken and all manner of vegetables. There is also a sushi area, free soft drinks and ice cream.

Open: 11:00-21:00
Location: MBK/CentralWorld/Siam Center

Best Beef
229+ baht (2 hours’ time limit)

Best Beef is located in On Nut, east of downtown Bangkok but still close to the BTS, and is hugely popular with locals and expats thanks to the huge selection of barbecued meats and vegetables available for just 229 baht for two hours. This open-air but under-cover restaurant gets hot and you will smell like beef for the rest of the evening due to the spit-back from the iron skillet, but if you are looking for a big, meaty feed just how local Bangkokians do it, Best Beef is highly recommended. The menu (in Thai) has four cuts of beef, three cuts of pork, as well as offal including liver, tongue and intestines, all available in unlimited amounts which you cook yourself directly at the table. When it comes time to order, just point at the pictures and smile.

Open: 16:00-24:00
Location: 1490/2 Sukhumvit Road, two minutes’ walk from On Nut BTS Skytrain
BTS: On Nut
Telephone: +66 (0)2 742 9416
